Rev. Canon Stanislaus A Condon

Sadly, we have to report that Father Stan, Parish Priest of St Mary’s Woburn Sands from 1985-2004 passed away on the afternoon of the 22nd January 2012.

 “…for many months he had carried the cross of lung cancer with great courage and with his inimitable wit. Canon Stan was ordained in 1959 and served in Corby, Thrapston, Bedford and Woburn Sands before retiring in 2004. In the sure hope of the resurrection, let us commend a good and faithful priest of the Diocese to the Lord.” Rt Rev Peter Doyle, Bishop of Northampton.

 The funeral and burial will take place at St. Mary’s, Woburn Sands, where Canon Stan was Parish Priest for 19 years. The details are as follows:

Sunday 29th January 6.30 pm

Reception into the Church of the body of Canon Stan Condon, followed by Vigil Mass for the parishioners of St Mary’s, celebrated by Monseigneur Sean Healy, the Vicar General and Father Francis Higgins.

Monday 30th January 11am

Requiem Mass, celebrated by Bishop Peter Doyle, attended by the clergy and the rest of the diocese, followed by interment in the cemetery.
